I have loved cats since I was a baby. My mom and my older brother always share the story about how I, who behaved like a delicate yet filled with rage flower when I was a baby, went over a construction area to grab a kitten, who scratched the c**p out of me because I was invading its personal space. Yet, I was extremely happy. One of my first sentences was “Bebe miau miau”, which could be translated to “Baby meow meow.”

Growing up, my love for cats remained the same. Well, that was until Maximito came into my life. Maximito was a precious white and yellow cat who was loving and caring. I loved her very much, and I still love her until this day. Unfortunately, our dog attacked Maximito. They knew each other but were not fans of each other, but they hadn’t fought until that awful day. We had to put Maximito down. I still cry sometimes when I remember that day.

I was around 20 years old, and that event changed me forever. I cared for my pets the best I could. Since I moved to Colombia, I haven’t adopted a cat, but I’m looking forward to doing it soon. I know I won’t ever meet another cat like Maximito, but I’ll love and protect it from harm.
