When I first read today’s writing prompt, I thought, “I wouldn’t un-invent anything, as every invention has an impact, for better or worse.” However, after some thinking, I realized that I would “un-invent” Stilettos.
Although I admit that I find Stilettos visually appealing, those shoes are both bad for our health and overstimated. I also regret those times that I ruined parties for myself because I was wearing uncomfortable shoes. You see, it was expected (the norm) to wear high heels to go to parties and special occasions, at least in Venezuela.
However, I’m not 100% sure that I would un-invent Stilettos, and I know that considering the shoes uncomfortable and not worth the pain is my opinion and that I’m free to decide not to wear them. I want to add as well that I respect people who wear them, love those shoes, and embrace the pain they cause (or don’t feel pain at all while wearing them).
I found an article that summarizes why using high heels is risky. As it is located within the blog of Foot Doctors Specialists, it could be an excellent place to start if you love heels but know you are in danger by using them and want a specialist to relieve your pain and teach you how to prevent it. Disclaimer: I have no association or contract with that site. I just found it while I was researching for this post.
I seldom ever wear high heels anymore, and I look like a newborn deer when I do. What about you? Do you wear high heels? Do you like them visually? Let me know 🙂
