Bloganuary writing prompt
What do you complain about the most?

I am writing this complain about pain while feeling (a lot) pain in my shoulders. I have been under a lot of stress lately, so that makes the pain more intense. I should probably mention that I remember my shoulders hurting since I was a teenager, so at this point I’ve given up on not feeling the pain and focused on managing it.

Now, I know the reasons for the pain. Usually, when I’m on the computer, my shoulders get very tense (I have to consciously remind myself to relax them). Additionally, I spent much time using my laptop, worsening it.

If you have recommendations on how to decrease the shoulder pain, you’ll help me a lot. Thanks for reading me, and remember to straighten your back, relax your shoulders, and drink water.

It sounds like you’ve been dealing with quite a bit of discomfort, and it’s admirable how you’re actively seeking ways to manage your shoulder pain. The self-awareness you show in recognizing the triggers, like computer use and posture, is a great first step in addressing the issue. It’s also helpful that you’re reminding your readers to take care of their posture and hydration – that’s thoughtful advice!

Have you tried any specific exercises or ergonomic adjustments to your workspace that have helped, even a little? Sharing your experiences might help others in a similar situation. Keep up your positive attitude and proactive approach!

Hi Justin! I shared in another comment a bit of the things I do to reduce/prevent the pain. Do you have any recommendation in particular you would like to share?

no wonder you have pain! You should try to not stress, it’s not good for your mental health. Stress can cause lots have bad things for your body. You should try to cool down and take deep breaths. Doing Yoga can help with stress to. I recommend you to go outside and have some fresh air. Have you talked to your Medical specialists yet? If you need more advice than I am here

Hi Parrot Bir. I have been working on reducing stress sources and have become better and better at stress managament. However, my life has also been getting more complicated so even if I am more resilient and (I hope) less dumb, I still get stressed and in pain!

I listen to guided meditations and have an scented candle that I love and that I light up when I meditate. I do some exercises that a Doctor recommended me for when my shoulders hurt. Some days I do them even if I’m not hurting.

Regarding Fresh air… I live in Bogota, so that makes getting fresh air a little bit difficult (the air quality is not the best). However, I go biking every Sunday πŸ™‚ and I go to parks whenever I have the chance.

Also, I have a ergonomic chair and a foot rest. Sometimes I imagine how much worst my pain would be if I didn’t try anything to address it. Thank you so much for your recommendations!

PS: I tried Yoga and didn’t like it 😦 I’m sorry.

I understand, not everyone likes yoga. Sometimes it’s good to take a risk. Trying something new. I’m sorry to hear that you still feel pain and that you feel stress. Eating lots of healthy things makes me feel better. I like eating avocados with salt. Sometimes eating well can make you feel better. It’s also good that you bike once in a while. Thanks for your reply,
