Not so long ago, I wrote about the meaning of my first name, Maria, in another Daily prompt post. Now, it is the turn of my preferred name, Astrid.
Astrid is a Scandinavian name, and even if I am not a Scandinavian, my dear mom gave me that name because of a princess. I think it is in honor of Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria, who was a fashion icon when my mom was growing up (and she still has a nice style, in my humble opinion).

According to my short investigation, Astrid means “divine beauty,” while the second most common meaning is “beloved by the Gods.” It is a cool name to have, if you ask me. Now, I wonder if I have a divine beauty because I think I’m pretty but not DIVINELY pretty. Regarding being beloved by the Gods, I do consider myself very lucky despite all the challenges I have faced in my short life, so I can think about myself as being loved by life, a divine grace, God, or Gods (I leave this like this because this is not to be turned into a religious discussion. I respect your beliefs and won’t assume what they are).
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a blessed day (and life).
