Oh, it is that time of the year again. 🙂 December is the month when many of us look back at what happened and feel happy for everything that we have achieved, utterly disappointed for how things turned out, or a mix of feelings.
In my case, this year was a bit hectic. I didn’t have a job at the start of the year and hadn’t been working for a while. What’s worse… I ran out of emergency funds, borrowed money from my boyfriend, and was pretty depressed (sad things happened last December).
Nevertheless, slowly but surely, things started to improve. I found a temporary job that paid poorly but promised a bonus —a bonus that I didn’t get because the training was longer than I had imagined. I thought it was better than nothing, but I didn’t like it. I was working my ass off for a crap*y salary.
Luckily, another company reached out and offered me a job that I accepted, and I ended up earning more than double what I was earning at the previous one (Not much, but it is honest work, right?). From there, I have received some nice Fiverr Gigs throughout the year (you can check my profile here), and at least.. I started slowly but surely paying my debts and building back my emergency fund. I work a lot, yes, but I it is worth it 🙂
I know, I know… All I have talked about is money. You see, starting this year with debt was mentally stressful, and overcoming that situation is one of the most positive things that has happened to me this year. 🙂
I have had a wonderful year filled with self-improvement, hard work, friends, dates with this amazing man I am lucky to call boyfriend, biking, and delicious food. My friends have overcome a lot as well and are happy 😀 Two of them are expecting a baby girl, one is getting married, others started new jobs, while others are finishing up their PhD. Thinking about them makes me so happy. My current mood… is gratitude.
I hope your year was as good as possible, and if it was not ( 😦 ), I hope this last bit of the year treats you with kindness and that you can heal, improve your situation, and be happy.
Thanks for reading 🙂 If you have read this far, comment Happy holidays 😀 (or not; it is a suggestion, not an order 🙂 ).
