Sometimes, we are so busy that we order food because we feel we don’t have the time to prepare anything. With this recipe, you will have a delicious, packed-with-protein dish in 20 minutes or less.
You’ll need:
- Two (2) cans of Tuna in water (6 oz or 170g).
- One (1) medium-sized tomato.
- One (1) big onion.
- One (1) spoonful of finely chopped parsley.
- One (1) spoonful of finely chopped basil.
- One (1) or two (2) spoonfuls of mayonnaise (depending on your preference).
- A pinch of salt.
- Optional: Two (2) spoonfuls of soy sauce.
Chop the onion into small cubes and the tomato into slightly bigger cubes. Add the drained tuna and the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and mix them. That’s it. You can taste it and add more salt or other spices of your preference. At this point you might think, what’s the twist? Well, the twist is the addition of fresh parsley and basil. The flavor they bring is out of this world, especially considering that it’s just two extra ingredients!

Something great about this recipe is that you can eat it with toast, tortillas, crackers, arepas, you name it. I want to share a tiny recommendation. Fresh parsley and basil are great, but they can oxidize quickly and lose their moisture, so I keep a mix of parsley and basil in the freezer. Believe it or not, they retain their quality for a long time; this way, you can always have the mix available for you when you want to “cook” this recipe.
What I love about this recipe the most is that it is flavorful, has a mix of textures, and is very versatile. Let me know if you are going to try it 🙂
Have a fantastic day and thanks for reading this.
