I’ve liked video games since I was a little girl. It was exciting to get a new game, play it, and complete it. I am far from being a gamer, as I’m not that good, but it is still one of the things I can easily spend 3 hours in a row without noticing it. Now, some other activities make me lose track of time as well. For example, I focus so much when biking on Sundays that I don’t realize how time passes. One time, we ended up biking for 4 hours! We noticed how long we had been on the road when we were about to arrive home. I have written about how much I like videogames and biking before, and I am talking about it again because my preferences haven’t changed (and probably won’t change).

I wish I did more things, such as reading books, but unfortunately, I waste my time doomscrolling and miss reading books. I have tried some things to manage my time, such as limiting the time I use social media and using to-do lists, among others, yet I don’t have that much control of myself. I also tried The Fabulous app, which helped me a lot but didn’t cure my Doomscrolling.
You may wonder why I discuss time management in a post about fun and life. The reason is that I think there are different types of fun activities, and playing video games and reading seems so much better than wasting 1 or 2 hours per day on social media. What do you think? I would love to hear your perspective.
