I used to be a person who fought for the things she thought were worth fighting for. In Venezuela, I spent countless hours protesting agains the Chavez and then Maduro Dictatorship, and I also had feroucius discussions with mysoginists, communists, and racist people. I used to scold people who littered the street.

However, now I’m finding myself being more selfish. I’m not fighting against anything but myself (My depression can take over if I don’t). A part of me wants to justify it and says that I’m now at peace, but I’m worried. I am worried that, just like me, people stop caring. Many things we have now are the result of martyrs, heroes, and normal folks who decided they were not going to be silenced. I fear my apathy is not isolated but it is general.
Luckyly, I see people standing up against what they consider is wrong, so it might just be a silly fear.
