There was a time when I went to the gym a couple of times a week and saw how I was becoming stronger each week. I got zika, and I couldn’t stand exercising because of the pain.
That was years ago, and I don’t think the pain I felt would return (or so I hope), but just remembering it… makes me NOT want to try a gym or lifting weights at all. It is completely irrational, and I know it, but it is what it is.
Now, there’s one exercise that I love, and that is riding a bike 😀 Bogota has this Sunday program where they put the Ciclovia (turning 50 years now D: ), which is how we called the streets being closed for cars and motorcycles but free to be used by anyone to walk, run, or roll, depending on their preference. There are street artists along the way filling it with music, small pop-up stores selling fruits and Tizana (which here in Colombia they call Salpicón), and of course, thousands of people enjoying 🙂
I liked riding a bike before that, but now Sundays are my favorite days, and of course, cycling is my favorite exercise. 😀 And the best part… I’m getting better and better.
