Do you play in your daily life? What says โ€œplaytimeโ€ to you?

Yes, I play in my daily life ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a professional and kind accountability partner, and a biologist who wears glasses… When people meet me, they think that Iโ€™m pretty serious, geeky, and shy. Theyโ€™re right about the geek part and partially right about the shy part.

However, Iโ€™m pretty silly ๐Ÿ™‚ I love playing around, doing little jokes, tickling โ€œtickableโ€ people (aka, people I know well and trust and know wonโ€™t get upset by the tickling), sharing silly jokes, dancing, singing (sometimes silly) songs, playing with any cats and dogs I find on my way, and playing with kids (kids in my family or of my friends).

My partner is the same. Thatโ€™s one of the reasons we get along so well. He is terrible with kids, tho, and thatโ€™s because he has no patience (this is because he doesnโ€™t come from a big family like I do. Nothing to do there).

For me, play is a hugely important part of our lives. Maybe thatโ€™s something I think, thanks to my love for video games.

In my case, something that indicates playtime is having free time. Work-life balance is a deal breaker for me, and thatโ€™s why I quit my 9-5 and found peace in the way. When I have many things to do, and my stress is through the roof, I donโ€™t feel like playing. I canโ€™t get myself to relax. Thatโ€™s no good.

I am very careful now with how I use my time, and Iโ€™m always trying to prevent burnout. I also schedule downtime. I highly recommend you do the same ๐Ÿ™‚ Add more play in your life and schedule time to have fun.
