Daily writing prompt
Which book have you read more than any other?

This is something that pops into my mind from time to time. I am not the type of person who re-reads a book. I usually read them and move on, seldom ever returning to read a specific part (something I remember doing with self-help books and El Conde de Montecristo).

However, when I was a kid, I used to re-read short stories and fairy tales. We had a decent collection of kids’ books, and I didn’t care if I had read them before; I usually grabbed my favorites and re-read them anyway. Many were from Disney. One was about a bunny who kept stealing his neighbor’s vegetables; another was about a penguin who couldn’t stand the cold; some were the Grimm versions of the stories, and so on.

I stopped re-reading stories when I got into middle school. It was the first time I was asked to read longer books. Once I started, I just didn’t repeat any book. I think it’s a bit of FOMO, being honest. I mean, why should I go back to a book I have already read when I can read and learn from a completely new story?

Maybe I’m the weird one ๐Ÿ™‚ Do you repeat books? Which one? Let us know in the comments.

I didn’t reread books until after college (I reread books like the Frog and Toad series in elementary school)

Reread books of now- honestly don’t know what made me reread Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia. However, I know what caused be to reread Percy Jackson and the Olympians (I finally decided to read Heroes of Olympus- I needed to refresh on the original series)

A Christmas Carol eventually became a Holiday Tradition to read

The Christmas tradition sounds wholesome ๐Ÿ™‚ And you made me realize that I don’t repeat books, but I do repeat movies sometimes. So maybe I have a double standard there.
