You know those days when your brain is all foggy and not cooperating? I know them well. As someone who helps people streamline their lives and businesses, I’m always looking for that next great productivity hack.
Lately, I’ve found it in a place I wasn’t really looking. And in all honesty, it’s not something that I’m a fan of.
When I read the question, What could you do more of?, my answer came to me instantly: moving my body. And I don’t mean hitting the gym for an intense session (though that’s great too if you like it!). I’m talking about the simple act of intentional movement.
For a while, I viewed exercise as a mandatory task for my physical health. However, I hated it. (You can read more about that here.)
Funnily enough, I started noticing a powerful connection: the more I moved, the clearer my head felt. That midday brain fog? It started to lift after a quick walk. That racing mind when I went to bed? Well, it would wind down pretty easily on the days I biked around Bogota.
It’s like hitting a reset button for your mind. 🧠✨
And here’s where it gets awesome: that mental clarity is a direct line to better productivity. When my mind is clear, I’m not just working; I’m working smarter. I’m more focused and more creative. I can tackle tasks with a renewed energy that coffee alone just can’t give. I love coffee with all my heart, so it hurts saying this.
So, what could I do more of? Definitely exercise. I feel it like an annoying task. Still, it’s one of the best things I can do for my mental health. It’s amazing how adding movement to your life can help (even if you hate it).
Now I stretch in the morning around 5 days per week. I’m a bit more flexible :D. I do sit-ups as well. Yes, I know…. I need to do more. That’s why I’m writing this article.
What about you? What would you like to do more?
